Soggy Bottom!!

We had been planning to go South so didn't winterize , life got in the way and we didn't leave when planned. Then we had a week of freezing temperatures and the penny dropped. When Hubby checked Lexy, her water filter holder had cracked and spilled water on the floor under our bed. On further examination he found very soggy plywood in our driver's side back corner. Lexy is now staying at the RV hospital, they found a large crack in one of the corners of the bed slide and it looks like it had been leaking for a while. She spent the Christmas holidays in their shop with heaters on to try to save the floor. We will find out today what the bill will be!!

Gordon Bay, Lake Cowichan

We thought we had booked for three nights but in the complete confusion of the booking we were only there two nights! The campsites are large and well treed so you feel quite private.
We took our cat,Minnie, to see how she would do and the meowed the first night non-stop but was quiet the second night, much to our pleasure.
Hubby has decided the mattress is too hard so I will try an egg-crate next.
We were camping with his daughter and grandsons, they were in the campsite across the road. We shared suppers and were on our own for brekky and lunch. It worked out well. His younger daughter came for the last night and they all went in swimming at the Point. I had hiked there the day before and my hip was complaining mightily so I chose not to go.I don't enjoy swimming so it was a win/win for me.
We must remember to take more pictures!

TaDa!!! Our first sleep-overs!

We went to Browns Bay Marina and Ripple Rock RV park north of Campbell River for three nights.  There is a very bumpy and dusty gravel road to get there but it is worth the drive. We had booked a site in the upper area and I was very pleased that we did. The bottom area was packed full but only three nicely spaced out on the upper part.We had a single gentleman in each of the other units up there and I was the only female. On our last evening a family of four arrived and they were placed equidistant between two of us. I am not looking forward to cohabiting with campers closer to us. I guess I am not a social person!
We came home with a two sided piece of paper with things we need to buy or fix before we go away again.

Our first outing.

We drove Lexy out to the Esquimalt Lagoon for lunch on Wednesday. Slowly trying to figure out all the various rattles! Lay a towel over the cutlery drawer, tuck the strap for the awning up behind it, try to secure the outside flap from the over stove fan and the list goes on.

Stocking up.

I have joined the online site called Pinterest and it has many ideas for RV'ers. I have successfully copied two of them. On the left is a bead container from the $ store which now holds selected spices and on the right is a ceramic mug being protected by the cuff cut from a holey sock belonging to my Hubby! It is funny that I am storing things in plastic as I have been trying to remove plastic from my kitchen but with trying to keep down the weight I suppose I will be reverting to the lighter storage options.

She has arrived!

Our new baby is in her new home in the RV lot at our abode. Luckily there is no charge for her staying there.
She is a 2008 Lexington GTS with 14,000KM on her odometer. She is called a 25ft, but is actually 27ft.She has a generator and with a switch we can heat the underneath tanks so they won't freeze.
